Message on COVID 19 – May 26 Update
“When can I see patients again? I miss my patients!” are the thoughts I have often these days. Patients alike have been asking when we will reopen because they want to come in and for some they NEED to be seen.
Our oral health is a window to our overall health. We cannot wait to take care of our patients but not without a new level of safety precautions. In dentistry, having to work so close to each other in this pandemic means all of our staff and patients’ safety come first. We had donated all our PPE (personal protective equipment) to frontline workers when hospitals/ Health units needed them. Now, we either don’t have any PPE (masks, gowns, gloves or shields) left to see patients that need us, or have to pay an exorbitant premium to replenish our stocks. These PPEs including the elusive N95 masks are hard to find, limited in amount, and many are back-ordered which takes many weeks to arrive. Until we can get all of our PPE in line and meet the Royal College of Dental Ontario guidelines in all aspects, our hands are tied and we have to remain closed.
Until we can reopen, I hope you all continue to do your best in taking care of your smile. We got to keep those teeth for life! Meanwhile, we will continue to work hard in procuring the much needed PPEs and setting up the office to allow you to come back to a safe environment.
Wish you and your family mentally and physically well.

Important Update Regarding COVID-19
We hope you all are staying healthy and safe. Be assured that the health and safety of all our patients, our staff and our community are of utmost importance to us and hence we will do our best to keep you informed of when we will re-open based on Ministry of Health and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario guidelines.
For now, if you have a dental emergency please call Dr. Mira Nusaputra directly on her mobile at 519-993-6442.
In the meantime we are staying connected as a dental team and are preparing for return. Although we have always followed stringent infection protocol in our daily operation, we have implemented additional measures that you will observe on your future visits. We will also be giving priority to urgent care upon re-opening and will be doing our best to extend hours so that we can accommodate as many patients as possible.
Please follow us on Facebook for our latest updates and we all look forward to re-connecting.
Our primary concern is that of your health and safety. We thank you for choosing St. Jacobs Dental Care and thank you for your patience during this difficult time. We look forward to the new normal and please stay home for now and stay safe.
